Shiloh National Military Park (Tennessee)
On April 6, 1862, during the Civil War, the Battle of
Shiloh began a six-month struggle for the key
railroad junction at Corinth, Mississippi. Afterwards,
Union forces marched from Pittsburg Landing to take
Corinth in a siege in May. They then withstood a
Confederate counterattack.
