President's Park (White House) (District of
Columbia)
This site consists of the White House, the
President's home, and adjacent land. The location
for the White House was chosen by George
Washington. It was originally built from 1792-1800,
and it was reconstructed after being burned in the
War of 1812. Renovations were made from 1949-
1952. Getting to see the inside of the White House
on a tour is very difficult but there is a visitor center
nearby.
