Pea Ridge National Military Park (Arkansas)
This park site is located on the site of an important
Civil War battle. On Mar. 7-8, 1862, the Union
troops defeated Confederate troops. It enabled the
Union to maintain control over Missouri. About a
thousand Indians fought on the side of the
Confederates.
