National Parks Passport Cancellations

You can buy a Passport to Your National Parks at
nearly every unit of the National Park Service.  There
are two versions.  One is a smaller book that fits in
your pocket.  Another size is larger and has more
room for cancellations.  At each site of the National
Park Service (plus sites not run by them but affiliated
with them, like national trails and national heritage
areas) you will find cancellation stampers which you ink
and then use to stamp a cancellation into your
passport book.  Some sites, usually the larger ones,
have different stampers in different areas or visitor
centers.  For example, in Grand Canyon National Park
there are at least ten different stampers located in
visitor centers and buildings spread out all over the
park.  It's fun to collect the different cancellations in
your parks passport.  I am a member of the National
Parks Travelers Club and they have a great
Website
about the parks passport program.  On it is a master
list of exact locations where you can find the
cancellation stampers.  They also issue awards based
on the number of cancellations you have obtained in a
year and based on the number of National Park
Service units you have visited in your lifetime.  Below
are some of my cancellation stamps.
