National Mall & Memorial Parks (District of
Columbia)
The National Mall is in downtown Washington
between the Capitol and the Washington Monument.
Besides the Washington Monument there are other
lesser known memorials on the National Mall,
including the Memorial to the 56 Signers of the
Declaration of Independence. It consists of blocks
of granite in which were chiseled the signtures of the
signers of the Declaration of Independence. I was
really moved by it because in looking at their
large-sized signatures I realized that were it not for
these men we would not have the Unites States
today. The National Mall also has on it Constitution
Gardens. The other memorial parks include the
Lincoln Memorial, Thomas Jefferson Memorial,
Vietnam Veterans Memorial, Korean War Veterans
Memorial, and the World War II Memorial.
