Mississippi National River and Recreation Area
(Minnesota)

Although the Mississippi River is long, stretching
from Minnesota down to Louisiana, 72 miles in
Minnesota, through the metropolitan area of
Minneapolis and St. Paul have been designated a
National Park Service site.  This stretch of the river
contains significant historic, natural, cultural, scenic,
and scientific resources.  Especially nice is a boat
ride you can take on the river past one of its locks.
