Little Bighorn Battlefield National Monument
(Montana)

This park site marks the location of the famous June
25, 1876 battle between the U.S. Army and the
Northern Plains Indians, in which Col. George
Armstrong Custer and 262 other soldiers were.  At
least 60 Indians were killed.  The Army attacked
because the Indians refused to live on the
reservation assigned to them in South Dakota.
