Lake Chelan National Recreation Area
(Washington)

This park site is located under and next to the south
sub-unit of North Cascades National Park.  Together
with Ross Lake National Recreation Area, they are
administered together.  Lake Chelan enters this park
site.  It is one of the country's deepest lakes.  At one
point it is 1,500 feet deep.  You can either hike into
the park site or take a boat.  You cannot drive into
it.  Boating, camping, fishing, hiking, and horseback
riding are some of the recreational activities.  The
Junior Ranger booklet for North Cascades National
Park covers this park site.
