Knife River Indian Villages National Historic Site
(North Dakota)

This park site contains depressions from earthlodges
of the Hidatsa and Mandan Indians.  This is the area
where Lewis & Clark met Sakajawea.  There is a
reconstructed earthlodge.  The visitor center
contains displays of everyday and ceremonial
objects of the native people who lived here.
