Kings Canyon National Park (California)

This park is run jointly by the National Park Service
with Sequoia National Park.  They preserve land in
the high Sierra Nevada mountains of California.
Kings Canyon National Park has two sub-units, a
larger one and a smaller one.  The larger one
contains canyons in which you can look up at the
walls a mile high.  The smaller sub-unit, which is
northwest of Sequoia National park, contains the
Grant Grove of giant sequoia trees.  In it is General
Grant Tree.  It is 267 feet tall and its circumferance
at the ground is 107 feet.  It is the third largest tree
in the world.  The top two largest, General Sherman
and Washington, are in Sequoia National Park.
There is one Junior Ranger program for both parks.
