Guilford Courthouse National Military Park
(North Carolina)
This park site is at the location of the Mar. 15, 1781
battle where the British defeated the Americans in
the Revolutionary War. This was one of the famous
battles in the South. The British lost 25% of their
men. So although they won, it did help the American
cause. Seven months later the Americans defeated
the British army at Yorktown, Virginia, and the British
army surrendered.
