Colonial National Historical Park (Virginia)
This historical park consists of two important
locations which are significant for their connection to
the time when England owned colonies in what is
now the United States. Jamestown was the first
permanent English settlement in North America,
going back to 1607. Yorktown Battlefield was the
last major battle of the American Revolutionary War
and it took place in 1781. These two parts of the
park are connected by what is called the Colonial
Parkway.
