Big Cypress National Preserve (Florida)
This site protects the watershed for the threatened
ecosystem of South Florida. Subtropical plant and
animal life abounds. Colorful birds can be seen
spreading their wings as you drive along the Tamiami
Trail. What is unique about the Junior Ranger
program is that it is conducted jointly with two other
sites: Biscayne National Park and Everglades
National Park. They use one common booklet.
Each activity in the booklet is geared to either of the
sites or to two of them or all three. If you complete
enough activities for one of the sites, you are
awarded that site's badge. If you complete the
activities for all three sites, you are awarded a patch
listing the three on it.
