Assateague Island National Seashore (Maryland
& Virginia)

This site is located on a barrier island stretching from
Maryland down to Virginia.  There are beaches, salt
marshes, waterfowl, and wild ponies.  The horses
are thought to be descendants of horses brought
here several hundred years ago.
