Hi, welcome to my Junior Ranger Web site.
badges, patches, and pins on my family's 2004
summer trip. Back then I was in elementary
school. By now, I have over 300. My brother
Bernard has over 150. We have acquired most
of them by completing booklets at National Park
Service units visited on family trips. Some we
obtained by mailing in completed booklets to
park units and receiving back the badges,
patches, or pins.
The Junior Ranger program became a fun way
to learn interesting facts about nature, animals,
history, and culture, as presented and preserved
in National Park Service units. I'm now in high
school but I still complete the booklets to build up
my collection of badges, patches, and pins. If
you would like to read more about me, including
about my lectures on the Junior Ranger program
in January 2008, at Liberty Magnet School in
Sebastian, Florida, please see the "About Sam
Maslow" and "Lectures" pages (buttons at left).
If you are interested in the Junior Ranger
program of the National Park Service this Web
site is for you! If you are not familiar with the
Junior Ranger program, you can learn about it by
going through my site.
You can start a collection of Junior Ranger
badges and patches without visiting any National
Park Service sites. You can earn some by mail.
One site even lets you do it through the Internet!
Check out my pages called "Junior Ranger
Program" and "National Park Service Sites"
(buttons at left) to find out how.
Below are the Junior Ranger badges, patches,
and pins presently in Bernard's and my
collections. It may take a short time for them to
appear so please be patient. Double-click them
to see larger views.
After you view my Web site, please contact
me with your thoughts and any suggestions.
Happy collecting,
Sam Maslow
